Rebecca Brown Kiser

Rebecca (Becky) Frances Brown Kiser, 85, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025.

Born in Burlington and raised in Kernersville, Becky dedicated her life to caring for others. After graduating from Charlotte Memorial's Nursing School, she went on to serve in the nursing profession for more than four decades. Her compassion, gentleness, and strength touched countless lives-both her patients' and the colleagues who worked alongside her.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents, David and Pauline Brown; her husband, John M. Kiser; and her sister, Susan Brown. She is survived by her three children: Michelle Kiser, John (Rebecca) Kiser, and Frances (Shannon Gilley) Kiser; and her beloved grandchildren: L.J., Bailey, Olivia, and Gabe.

Wise, kind, and steadfast, Becky lived with a quiet faith that grounded her life and strengthened those around her. She loved her family fiercely and found joy in simple pleasures-playing games, watching Star Trek, sharing laughter, and spending time together. After retiring from nursing, she devoted much of her time to caring for her grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as Nana. Even in her later years, she remained vibrant and active, attending Bible study, exercise class, and playing cards with friends.

Her patience, compassion, and iron will left an enduring mark on all who knew her. The world has lost a legend, but her love and example live on in the hearts of those she cherished.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Heritage Funeral Services in Matthews.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Siler Presbyterian Church and Light of Christ United Methodist Church for their prayers, support, and kindness.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
