JoAnn Kiser, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed peacefully from this life and into the arms of her Savior on November 5, 2025. Born on December 13, 1943, in Troy, Ohio, JoAnn was the cherished daughter of the late Vernal and Alice Vernon. She carried a gentle spirit, a generous heart, and a quiet strength that touched everyone blessed to know her.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Gordon Kiser, Sr., with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and family. Their marriage stood as a testament to faith, loyalty, and enduring love. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Dorothy Johnson, Richard Scott,
Glen Scott, Denny Vernon, Leroy Vernon, Elsie Cockerell, Helen Parker, Earl Lee Vernon and Howard Vernon.
Left to treasure her memory is her brother, Don (Becky) Vernon, who shared a lifelong bond of love and family with her. JoAnn leaves behind her beloved children, each of whom she cherished deeply: Jovenna Kiser, Gloria Jeannette Kiser, and Alisa Jo (Michael) Messer.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to her precious grandchildren: Lacy (Tony) Harris, Dylan Clifton and Joseph Aiden Bailey; and a great-grandchild, Aiden Wayne Harris.
JoAnn found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. She loved going to yard sales and finding hidden treasures that always came with a story. She enjoyed working puzzles and tending to her garden, where she found peace and fulfillment. Listening to gospel music brought comfort to her heart and strengthened her faith. JoAnn was known for her generous spirit-always supporting community fundraisers and being among the first to help those in need.
Her life was marked by compassion, humility, and unwavering love for her family. To those who knew her, she was a steady presence-gentle, kind, and full of encouragement. Her absence leaves a deep ache, yet her memory remains a blessing that will continue to guide and comfort those she loved. Though we grieve, we rest in the promise that she is healed, whole, and joyfully reunited with her loved ones in the presence of the Lord.
Funeral services will be 3 pm Sunday, November 9, 2025 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Bro. Michael Burnett officiating. Burial will follow in the Everman Cemetery off the AA. Visitation will be 12 noon Sunday until the service hour. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.malonefuneralhome.com
