Linda Gaye Davis Jones, age 78, of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, November 3, 2025. Born on May 6, 1947, in Music, Kentucky, she was the cherished daughter of the late Frank and Myrtle Lee McWhorter Davis.
Linda was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Ronald "Ronnie" Jones, with whom she shared 49 wonderful years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Kim Downs; her son, Jeryl Jones; and her siblings: three sisters, Hazel Davis Lucas, Virginia Carroll, and Lois Adkins; and two brothers, Norman "Russ" Davis and Harvey Davis.
Throughout her life, Linda dedicated many years to serving as a nurse's aide at Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods, where her compassion and kindness touched the lives of countless residents and their families. A woman of deep faith, Linda was a devoted Christian who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially in the company of her beloved dog.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Deidra (John) Clark of Ashland; her son, Eddie (Tammy) Jones of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; and her grandchildren, Amanda (Brandon) Thomas, DeEricka (Jimbo) Lewis, John Robert (Rubie) Clark, Markie (Bobby) Clark, Danijan (Thomas) Thornton, and Taite Rhodes. She also leaves behind several great-grandchildren, including Cameron Shannon, Caden Thomas, Mason Lewis, Jaylee Lewis, Aeis Steele, and Eliza Steele. Additionally, she is survived by a sister, Margie Ruth Carroll of Rush, KY; a special niece, Susie Conley, and a host of friends and extended family who will deeply miss her presence.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Malone Funeral Home, with Bro. Chris Keaton officiating. Burial will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East. Visitation will be from 11 AM until the service time on Thursday.
Serving as pallbearers will be Caiden Thomas, Caeron Shannon, Mason Lewis, Cameron Harper, Jaylee Lewis, and Taite Rhodes.
