Clifford Tomancak Sr. of Taylor, TX, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2025, at the age of 86.
Born on July 2, 1939, in East Bernard, Texas, Clifford was the son of Joe and Lillian Tomancak. He grew up with a deep appreciation for nature, family, and service—values that shaped the course of his life and left a lasting legacy. Clifford proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years, a time that instilled in him discipline, resilience, and strength that he carried throughout his life. Following his military service, he dedicated over 37 years to Alcoa, Inc. where he was known for his hard work, integrity, and strong commitment to his job.
Outside of work, Clifford found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He and his wife loved to dance and frequented the dance halls in their younger years as he was a member of the American Legion Post and Knights of Columbus. Also, he was so proud of his farm of 57 years where he was a jack of all trades. In addition, he was an avid outdoorsman who loved raising his farm animals of (cattle, chickens, pigs) as well as hunting deer, fishing, camping and tending to his garden. His green thumb brought plenty of fresh food to all those around him. One of his favorite pastimes was riding his Ford and later John Deere tractor—whether mowing the pasture or just taking a slow drive to admire the land he loved. That tractor wasn’t just a machine to him; it was a symbol of his pride and joy.
Clifford's love for his family was noticed by all when he attended his children's and later grandchildren's sports and activities. He enjoyed attending football games, baseball games, FFA events, and any activities that the kids were a part of. He also had a deep love for travel with his wife, Dorothy, and family. As a family, he enjoyed the adventures of travels to different parts of the U.S, in particular Vegas, Europe, Alaska, Mexico, and many cruises to the different Caribbean ports. A great memory for all of us as a young family, was taking our Sunday afternoon drives along the Texas country roads and enjoying the beautiful countryside. Such a simple and beautiful way of life for our family.
Clifford is survived by his devoted wife, Dorothy, of 63 years and their four children: Clifford Tomancak Jr.(Paulinda), Melanie Busby (Robert), Cheryl Heitzman (Brian), and Jason Tomancak (Beth). His legacy continues through his 12 grandchildren: Calvin Tomancak, Kelsey Tomancak, Justin Busby, Brandon Busby, Nathan Heitzman, Brianna Heitzman, Natalie Tomancak, Hayden Tomancak, Connor Tomancak, Ellie Tomancak, and Chloe Tomancak and great-grandson, Wyatt, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Clifford’s life was a testament to his dedication, love, and lots of strength. In the last several years, he fought for his life, and now will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Clifford's 86 remarkable years on earth will be honored with a visitation at the Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Tx on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm with a Rosary service starting at 7:00pm.
