Clifford Eugene Wooldridge, oldest son of Bromley and Thelma (Mitchell) Wooldridge, was born December 26, 1936 in Guthrie County, Iowa and peacefully passed from this life on September 22, 2025 at Adel Acres Care Home at 88 years of age. He grew up in Guthrie and Dallas Counties, graduating from high school at Washington Township School near Minburn, IA, in the class of 1955. He joined the Naval reserve during high school and then married the love of his life, Verla Jean (Wicks) on June 17, 1956. They were blessed with three children, Daniel, Michelle, and Scott.
Cliff was a cherished member of the Winterset community over 50 years. In retirement, Verla and he enjoyed camping and snow birding in the Phoenix area. He was a long-time member of New Bridge Church and the local Masonic chapter.
But mostly, he loved his family. Cliff is survived by his WIFE of 69 years, Verla Wooldridge of Winterset; CHILDREN, Dan (Susan) Wooldridge of West Des Moines, Michelle (Steve) Brasel of Kansas City, MO, and Scott (Melissa) Wooldridge of Rhone, TX; GRANDCHILDREN, Jen Silver (Danny) of Roy, UT, Danielle (Sean) Scott of Kansas City, KS, Courtney (Dan) La Pole of West Des Moines, Dani (David) Kenney of Omaha, NE, Nan (David) Moreno of Minneapolis, MN and Daniel (Courtney) Wooldridge of Freeport, FL; 14 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN; one GREAT GREAT GRANDCHILD, Corbin Thorpe-Birrell of Independence, MO, and BROTHER, Richard (Connie) Wooldridge of Marshalltown. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother (Norman) and one grandchild (Mavinee) and one great grandchild (Rylee).
Visitation (10:00 am) and funeral (11:00 am) will be held on September 26, 2025 at New Bridge Church in Winterset, with interment following lunch at his family plot at Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Panora.
Memorials may be directed to the New Bridge Church (Kitchen) of Winterset.
