Clinton Bruce Danielson passed on to his heavenly rest suddenly of natural causes on Tuesday August 1, 2023 at home.
Clint was born in Detroit Lakes, MN on October 28, 1958 to Loren and Geneva (Hage) Danielson. He attended school at Richwood Elementary, Washington Elementary and Detroit Lakes High School, Class of 1977.
He attended Moorhead State for a year, and became a Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE). He worked various jobs, two favorites being on a combine crew traversing the grain belt from Montana to Texas and back, and the US Post Office. He also worked in town for Bergen’s Greenhouse. In 1984, he attended Detroit Lakes Vo-Tech where he met and married his wife of 38 years, Bonnie. He enlisted in the Navy in 1985, first as an air traffic controller and then as an Oceans Systems Technician Maintainer, maintaining large computer systems used in anti-submarine warfare. He was stationed in Tennessee, Maine, Virginia, Iceland, Newfoundland, Canada, Wales, England and Okinawa, Japan. He enjoyed adventure everywhere he went, including glacier trekking in Iceland, spelunking caves and as part of a dragon boat crew in Okinawa. Clint and Bonnie toured France, Belgium, Ireland and Scotland while living in England, and he travelled to Italy twice while in the Navy.
After retiring from the Navy in 2005, he completed his college education at Minnesota State at Moorhead and graduated with a degree in Criminal Science. Recently, he and Bonnie built their country home north of Detroit Lakes where Clint enjoyed gardening, wine making, hunting and fishing with his buddy Chip Nielsen. He also enjoyed fishing trips to Ontario.
Clint made countless friends wherever he went and was known for lending a helping hand anyway he could, especially with veterans.
Clint is survived by his wife Bonnie (Jones) Danielson, daughter Laura, sister Terri (Gary) Hilgers of Phoenix, AZ; brother Vernon Danielson of Detroit Lakes, MN; three nieces, Bria (Lee) Gustafson of Phoenix, AZ; Heather Hilgers of Manhattan; and Deni (Jacob) Larson of Falcon Heights, MN and his godchildren; Bryan (Jessi) Swang of West Fargo, Andrew Swang of Moorhead and Kisha (Chris) Abbas of South Dakota.
