Clinton Galloway Obituary

Clinton Edward Galloway
August 11, 1935 - June 11, 2022
Kennewick, Washington - Clinton Galloway, fourth of five children, was born in Unionville, Missouri in 1935 to Clifford and Madge Galloway.
Clinton passed peacefully with family by his side at his home in Canyon Lakes, Kennewick, WA on the evening of June 11th.
Clinton met Aleene Anderson during their sophomore year of high school, married in 1954 and raised their two daughters together. He studied at Washington State University where he studied botany and large animal veterinary medicine. He became a cherry and apple farmer in Benton City, WA, where he raised his family.
He served on the board of directors for the Benton Irrigation District for many years, setting the policies and regulations for the distribution of water throughout the district.
In 1982 Clinton and Ann (Neyens) Johnstone were married. He loved Ann, beyond measure and throughout their marriage they continued to make each other laugh and celebrated their long life together. Soon after their marriage, his studies restarted with an emphasis on teaching, leading to his graduation from Eastern Washington State University. He became a teacher and he taught in California and continued his teaching career at Kamiakin High School, Kennewick, WA until his retirement.
He traveled the United States and his adventures took him to Europe, Mexico and Canada. His retirement led to many hobbies, his favorite being leather tooling, and his wallets are carried by family and friends around the world from Asia, Europe, USA, and Canada. His intricately tooled Seahawks wallets were some of his best. He was a long time Seahawks fan.
He was charming, wise, a great judge of character who found positive in most everything and everyone. Some of his favorites included being out in nature, dancing, traveling, interacting with his grandkids, and teaching his students. He enjoyed eating good food, all varieties of apples, Fujis being his favorite, cherries and peaches. He loved sipping a good brandy. He was a gentleman and an extraordinary man. He loved driving Cadillacs and loved country western music. He had a certain flare about him.
He was so proud of his children and grandchildren and his great grandchildren. Everyone, who knew him, appreciated him. He was the greatest son, dad, brother, grandfather, uncle, friend, and teacher.
He had seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Ann Galloway, daughters, Shari Jones (Shawn) and Cynthia Swain (Don), Ann's children Cheryl Haff (Stan), Richard Johnstone (Barbara), grandchildren, Kathleen Swain-Lim (Patric), Nicholas Jones (Annie), Stephanie Lingen (Carl), Lauren Hunt (Isaiah), Jared Haff (Denise), Kyle Haff (Rachel), Jim Gowdy (Melissa), along with many other family and friends.
Clinton's Memorial will take place: Friday, July 1 at 1:00 p.m. at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, Kennewick, Washington. Please visit Mueller's website for details.

Many good thoughts and memories about Clinton and his family. We were their neighbors in Benton City from about 1960 to 1967. Dad and Clinton were good friends and shared an old, sweaty ball cap back and forth through the mail for years after Dad and Mom moved to Las Vegas in 1967. I'd sure like to contact Cindy and Shari and re-establish communication between us and between my brother, Hank, and the two girls. Please feel free to share my email address with them. My condolences and fond memories in remembrance of Clinton.

Uncle Clinton helped raise us with wisdom, kindness, laughter and a smile that would melt our hearts every time! All of our memories of Uncle Clinton are full of happiness! We were blessed to have such a positive and faithful role model in our young lives! Uncle Clinton taught us character, the benefit of hard work, love of life, and how to milk a cow! We were blessed to have such a fine man as our Uncle Clinton!

We had an amazing Grandpa
One who never really grew old
His smile was made of sunshine
And his heart was solid gold
His mind and vision is beyond
And his crafts well adorned by many
We had an amazing grandpa
And that´s how he´ll always be remembered
His last remembrance for us
It´s the sunshine that shines
Three cheers to grandpa
We´ll always remember you grandpa as there´ll never be another to replace you in our hearts and all the love we will have for you
