OTTOVILLE – Clinton D. Ingledue, 62, of Ottoville, peacefully passed away at 10:47 a.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima surrounded by his loving family. He succumbed to injuries sustained in an auto accident on January 12, 2025.
He was born on June 30, 1962, in Lima. Clinton was a 1980 graduate of Ottoville High School and attended UNOH in Lima.
Clinton is survived by his son, Kyle (Joy) Ingledue; sister, Dawn Pohlman and nephew, Keith Pohlman; brother, Scott Ingledue; stepson, Rick Hahn and stepdaughter, Richelle Hahn; eight grandchildren: Jackson Ingledue, Oslo Ingledue, Ryder Ingledue, Hendrix Ingledue, Knox Ingledue, Jamie Raulerson, Lucas Dancer, and Brison Hahn; and his cherished dog, Lala.
He was preceded in death by his significant other, Tammy Best; mother, Bonita Niese; and maternal grandparents: Hugo and Martha Byrne.
Clinton served in the U.S. Navy as a sub-mariner on the nuclear submarine, The U.S.S. James Madison, where he earned the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars, Enlisted Submarine Insignia, and SSBN Deterrent Patrol Pin with 1 Silver Star. He served 4 years active duty and 8 years in the Navy Reserves. He retired from the military and formerly worked for J.B. Tool and Machine as a tool and die maker.
He was an active member of the Ottoville VFW Post 3740, where he loved spending time with his VFW friends.
Clinton was a collector of muscle cars. He loved his Shelby, Mach 1 and Ford XL. His knowledge of cars was phenomenal. He was a great mechanic and there wasn't a car he couldn't fix. He also collected comic books and baseball cards, along with other memorabilia.
He was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Bengals as well as The Ohio State Buckeyes. He really enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to flea markets, thrifting and karaoke. His favorite song was "It's My Life" by Bon Jovi.
Clinton was a great father, grandfather and brother. He was loved so very much and will be dearly missed.
The outpouring of prayers and thoughtfulness from the Ottoville community was a blessing and very much appreciated. Thank you also to Ottoville EMS and Fire.
