Clinton Jefferson Newman Sr.

Clinton Jefferson Newman, Sr, age 77, of McCalla, AL, died peacefully at home on September 11th, 2025, while surrounded by his loving family. Clint was born on March 30, 1948 in Eastlake, AL, to Earle and Irene Newman. He was the baby of six, Doug, Kay, Marilyn, Linda, and Jim. He graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1968, and then served 4 years in the United States Coast Guard. On May 22, 1970, he married Jean Tate Newman. They were lucky enough to spend the next 55 years together, and raised 4 amazingly perfect children, Jeff (Brandi), Brad (Amy), Stephanie (Becky) and Tiffany. They were also blessed with 7 beautiful grandchildren, Breanna (Max), Alysa, Austin, Emma Rae, Gauge, Hayden and Payton. His most favorite 4-legged family member, was his beloved chocolate lab, Truffle. Some of his favorite things included guns, cars, history and tinkering. He loved family time, and when he was more able, he never missed an opportunity to cheer on his children or grandchildren in whatever sport they were playing. He also never missed an opportunity to show up wearing one of his favorite t-shirts laced with sarcasm and mildly offensive comments. Visitation will be held at McCalla Funeral Home on Monday, September 15th, 2025, at 1pm with a service to follow at 2pm.
