Clyde "Ken" Kenny Broyles, age 75, of the Blue Rock Community, a man who brightened every room he entered and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him, passed away on Friday, January 24th, 2025 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 35 years, Arlene Broyles; a son, Josh Broyles; and grandmother, Sara Brown.
A true force of positivity, Ken was loved by everyone who had the privilege of crossing his path. His laughter was contagious, his sense of humor unmatched, and his ability to bring joy to any situation was nothing short of remarkable. Known for his quick wit and love of a good laugh, he had a knack for cutting up and bringing smiles to even the most serious of occasions. He was a very successful businessman, having owned his own business, The Trading Post, otherwise known as The Smoke Shop, and was also an auctioneer who traded and sold antiques. His customers became friends, drawn not only by his expertise, but by the warmth and genuine care he extended to everyone he met. Ken will be dearly missed by his family, friends and customers. Though Ken has left this world, his laughter echoes in the hearts of all who knew him, a lasting reminder of the joy he brought to life. As we say goodbye, we celebrate a man who truly made the world a brighter, happier place.
Surviving are a daughter, Lynn Goforth (Dewayne), and a son, Patrick Broyles (Rachel), all of Marshall; four grandchildren: Kevin, Elaina, Dakota and Kelsey; five great-grandchildren: Maylee, Raylan, Kinley, Blaine and Branson; his best friend, Troy Postlethwaite; as well as lots of friends.
No services are planned at this time.
Memorial donations may be made to Compassionate Care WNC at 856 Georges Fork Road, Burnsville, NC 28714.
