Clyde L. Duback, 83, of Vancouver, Washington passed away on July 13, 2025. Born on January 10, 1942 to Lester D. and Addie E. Duback of Vancouver, Washington, Clyde grew up and spent his life in Vancouver. His family owned a large farm and Clyde grew up running the daily tasks of the farm with his three younger siblings. He graduated from Evergreen High School in 1960 and only months later enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Clyde attended submarine school and was deployed to the USS Cusk. He completed his reserve service at Swan Island in 1965. He then began his life as a civilian. Clyde had many hobbies. He was in a bowling league. He bought a '41 Willy's hot rod and built it from street legal to the drag strip where he won many trophies. Later in life, he loved making jewelry and sharing it with others. Clyde met his soul mate, Claudia, in 1969 and they married in 1972. Clyde and Claudia bought their first house in 1974 and enjoyed life with many friends and family. Clyde loved children and watching the family grow. They enjoyed camping and boating together, and when Clyde retired, they spent many days traveling in their motorhome and boat with friends and family. Always one to embrace life, Clyde truly loved everyone he met and was loved by all who knew him. He worked hard and played hard; telling his doctor in later days that he had no regrets and had gotten everything he wanted in life. He became Uncle Clyde to many and was so proud of all of them. Clyde left his mark and will be missed, but never gone from those who knew and loved him. Clyde was preceded in death by his father Lester Duback and mother Addie Harris Duback. Clyde is survived by his wife, Claudia, of 53 years, brother Alan Duback, sisters Darlene Howard and Bonnie DeYoung, nephews Wade and Rodney Anderson, Skye Sawyer (Jennifer), and Rayford Thompson, nieces Dee Elmer, Elain Nagore, and Makenzie Pyles (Devin), great nieces Carly and Haley Anderson, Tiffany Hamilton, and Katelyn and Adelyn Sawyer, great nephews Emmett and Eli Pyles, and many cousins. A memorial service is being held on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 11:30 am. It is being held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. 1101 NE 112th Ave, Vancouver, WA 98684
