Clyde DeWayne Lineback, born November 3, 1935, passed away on December 9, 2025, in
Marietta, Georgia.
DeWayne was born in
Tipton, IN and spent many years living in Laurel, Indiana, where he raised his children and maintained a cattle farm while employed by Nordson Corporation as a Regional OEM Manager of the US. He was known for his dedication, reliability and strong work ethic. He was first married to Doris McNew Lineback, who preceded him in death. He later married Paula Lineback, and together they shared over 25 years of marriage.
Both of DeWayne's parents were educators, instilling in him from an early age a deep respect for learning, discipline, and personal growth. That foundation shaped much of his life. Dewayne valued education greatly, not only as a means of achievement but as a lifelong pursuit of understanding, responsibility, and integrity. He carried this belief into his own life, attending college and earning a master's degree, and consistently encouraging learning, curiosity, and perseverance in those around him.
In 2010, DeWayne and Paula moved to Ellijay, Georgia, where they enjoyed a full and meaningful life together. During their years in Ellijay, they shared a love of fishing, became actively involved in their church community, and Dewayne continued his love for woodworking, crafting many beautiful and meaningful items. A lifelong lover of the outdoors, DeWayne found peace, purpose and a quiet connection to the world around him. He loved to hunt and traveled out West. He loved the wide open spaces particularly in Montana. Their faith and fellowship were central to their daily lives, and they faithfully attended Ellijay First United Methodist Church. In 2023, they moved to Sterling Estates of West Cobb, a senior living community in
Marietta, Georgia, where Dewayne recently celebrated his 90th birthday, surrounded by family.
A kind, steady, and hardworking man, DeWayne was a Marine to his very core and proudly received an honorary discharge from the United States Marine Corps. He carried the values of discipline, honor, and service throughout his life.
DeWayne enjoyed time at the shooting range, an activity he approached with the same discipline, patience, and respect that characterized his life.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Lineback, and his granddaughter, Kelly Kenney.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Paula S. Lineback; his children Clyde Douglas Lineback (Lisa) and Lori Lineback Kenney (Chris); his grandchildren Desiree Lineback, Katie Kenney (Jeff), Carl Kenney (Ali), and Casey Kenney (Lucas); his step-daughters Cindi Leonard Alexander (J) and Lauriel Leonard Smith (Craig); his step-grandsons Cade Alexander and Jack Alexander; and extended family and friends who will deeply miss his faithful heart and steady presence.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude and appreciation to DeWayne's caregivers, whose dedication, compassion, and unwavering love provided comfort and dignity during his last several months. The family could not have done this without your steadfast support.
Services will be announced at a later time. Arrangements are being handled by Carmichael Funeral Home in
