Clyde William McGregor Sr.

Clyde William McGregor, Sr., 91 of Des Moines, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on April 4, 2024. He was born July 29, 1932 in Des Moines to Thomas and Everdell (Evans) McGregor.
He joined the United States Army on October 1, 1952 and was discharged February 29, 1954 this made Clyde a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Clyde met and married Donna L. Fisher on October 4, 1964 in Des Moines.
He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and hunting with his brothers, grandson and friends. He enjoyed working construction, he never told anyone no to a project. Clyde worked for John Deere for 25 years before retiring. He loved spending time with his family, playing cards, and watching sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys.
Clyde is survived by his loving wife, Donna; children, Clyde McGregor Jr. (Christine), Yvonne Johnson (Ernest) Monica Smith (Lamonte), Nina Summers, Tammerline Johnson (Gwentin), Jacqueline McGregor, Clyde McGregor III, Lewis McGregor (Lisa), Thomas McGregor (Realinn); brothers, Donald McGregor, Tim McGregor, Johnny McGregor, Scotty McGregor, Timmy McGregor; sisters, Jodi McGregor, Elaina McGregor, Donna McGregor, Sheri McGregor, Annette McGregor; a host of grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, mother, Everdell Evans; father, Thomas McGregor; brothers, Kenneth McGregor, Stephen McGregor, Robert McGregor; sisters, Beverly Williams and Patricia Daye; and grandson, Terry Lee Harris Jr.
Visitation will be 10 AM - 11 AM Monday April 15, 2024 at Iles Westover Chapel, 6337 Hickman Road, Des Moines. Funeral will follow at 11 AM Monday with burial at 12:30 PM Iowa Veteran Cemetery, Adel.
