Emily Ann Linn

On January 14, 2026, this world lost an amazing soul, Emily Ann Linn. Emily passed away at home in Des Moines, Iowa.

Emily's beautiful smile could light up a room and her kindness and caring touched so many and made this world a better place. She spent her life in service to those with disabilities and you would have to look hard to find someone who enjoyed her work as much as Emily. Born to David Charles Linn and Terese Ann Oeth Linn on Dec. 11, 1978, she attended St Augustine School, Dowling High School, and received her Degree in Recreational Therapy from the University of Iowa. Emily was an enthusiastic Iowa football fan and faithfully followed Iowa, the Chicago Bears, and the Kansas City Chiefs. She had friends from many walks of life and enjoyed spending time with them. Emily had a particular amusement with and love of frogs and had many frog likenesses in her home and belongings.

She is survived by her parents, David Linn and Terese Young, her sister, Angela Marie Linn Chapman, her nieces Quinci Danell Chapman and Dilynn Colleen Chapman, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, Dale and Colleen Linn of Glidden Iowa and Robert and Rosemary Oeth of Des Moines.

We lost Miss Emily way too soon and her family wishes to share the happiness of her life with those she loved! A visitation and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Iles Westover Chapel. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM followed by a luncheon to enjoy together.
