Clyde E. Taylor

1931 - 2025

Clyde E. Taylor, age 93, of Greenville, Michigan, passed away early Tuesday morning, November 11, 2025 at The Laurels of Carson City. The son of John C. & Inez Harriet (Crysler) Taylor, he was born on December 6, 1931 in Northville, Michigan.
Clyde retired from St. Joseph-Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti where he worked in the environmental services department and was a long-time member of the Ypsilanti Baptist Temple, where he served as an usher for many years.
In 1957, Clyde married Sonja Longwell and they had one daughter, Catherine, and later divorced. In 1962 he married Sharon Aiston and together they five children and later divorced. In 1987 he married Darlene Mae Johnson and together they enjoyed seventeen years of marriage until Darlene passed away on June 10, 2004. Clyde later married Janice K. Crater, who passed away on September 8, 2025. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patty Kesterson; and an infant brother, Jackie.
Surviving are his children, Catherine Taylor, Melinda Taylor, David & Jamie Taylor, Candy Taylor, Sandy Garr; a sister, Betty Jordan; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren with a third expected in May of 2026; numerous nieces and nephews; and several step-children and their families.
Visitation is from 12-1 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025 at Christiansen's Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Pastor Dave Hansen will officiate and burial will take place privately at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding.
