Mr. Clyde Thomas Ervin, age 81, of the Hardison Mill Community in Maury County, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024 with his family by his side from a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease and dementia. He was retired from Walker Die Casting in Lewisburg, TN.
Clyde was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Clyde was a musician and had a God given talent to play any instrument he picked up, but he was a true bass player. Clyde touched so many lives throughout his years of playing music. Clyde loved going to flea markets and collecting junk that he could tinker with.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Florence Cozart Ervin, three brothers, Claude “Tootsie” Ervin, William “Bobby” Ervin, Wilburn “Pig” Ervin, sister, Betty Ervin Brannon, nieces and nephews.
Clyde is survived by his loving wife, Cathey Ring Ervin of the Hardison Mill Community; daughters, Karlyna (James) Lane of Unionville, TN, Cathey “Homer” (Adam) Ashworth of the Hardison Mill Community; 5 grandchildren, Kayla Smith, Kassidy (Cameron) Stacy, Kizzey (Braxton) Adcock, Corde Lane, Harden Ashworth; 5 great grandchildren, Laighton Smith, Nash Stacy, Karolyne Stacy, Cole Stacy, Nola Stacy; 3 sisters, Dot Young of Lewisburg, TN, Lula (Jack) Crigger of Lewisburg, TN, Eleanor Rubert of Culleoka, TN; a brother, Jackie (Sue) Ervin of Pulaski, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 4 PM until 8 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM on Thursday, August 22, 2024 from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in Allen Cemetery in the Caney Spring Community of Marshall County, TN.
Cameron Stacy, Corde Lane, Buba Hodge, Scottie Crigger, Ronnie Ring, Brian Rubert, and Eric Fuller will serve as pallbearers.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
