Clydette Marie (Shelley) Johnson, age 79, passed away on January 5, 2026.
Clydette was born on February 27, 1946, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Clyde and Rita Shelley. She spent more than 46 years in the workforce, employed by the Santa Fe Railway, later the Burlington Northern Railway, as well as CTA Corp and the State of Kansas. She retired in 2013 after a long and dedicated career.
She was a faithful member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Topeka.
In November 1998, Clydette married Eldon Johnson in Topeka. He survives. Additional survivors include her sons, Kary G. Iott and Christopher S. Iott; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her sister, Candace Becker; her brothers, Steve Shelley and Scott Shelley; and her sister-in-law, Denise Shelley, wife of Steve Shelley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Rita Shelley, and her brother-in-law, Jim Becker.
Clydette loved spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed traveling and participated in Jazzercise for many years.
Clydette will be cremated, and a family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care, 200 SW Frazier Cir., Topeka, KS 66606.
