Clytie Clark Adams passed away peacefully in her home on April 24th, 2025, of natural causes. She was born September 18th, 1938, in Los Angeles, California, to Richard Henry Clark and Grace Monson. Grace later married Harold Judd Mace, Sr. Clytie was raised by Harold and Grace in Kanab, Utah, where she graduated from Kanab High School. She continued her education, graduating from the University of Utah, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in ballet.

She married Spencer Dewey Adams Jr. on March 6th, 1959, and they were together for 61 years before his passing in 2020. Spence and Clytie raised their three daughters in Kaysville, where she created the ballet school that has flourished for 63 years in an extremely supportive community. Clytie loved teaching children, giving many a dancer an opportunity to discover the joy of movement through the art of ballet.

She was the president of the Utah Ballet Teachers Association for three separate terms, served on the Utah Arts Council for four years, and was presented with the Outstanding Alumna Award by the University of Utah Fine Arts Alumni Council. In 2022, she was honored to be the recipient of the Governor's Mansion Artist Award.

As s member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served faithfully wherever she was called. She and Spencer served as host and hostess at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, as well as senior missionaries in the California Oakland Mission.

Clytie enjoyed reading, dancing and fine arts. She spent many happy hours golfing and playing Pictionary with her sweetheart and their close friends. Another favorite was family camp, where she could enjoy fresh mountain air from her window cracked open at night. She loved the beauty of nature and the world around her, especially the little squirrel that danced across the branches of her beautiful backyard. Above all, she cherished her daughters and adored her grand and great grandchildren.

Clytie is survived by her brother, Robert William (Cathy) Mace; her daughters, Leslie (David) Christensen, Sarah (Mark) Robinette, and Jennifer (Blake) Hart; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren, soon to be 25.

She was preceded in death by Spencer Dewey Adams Jr., Grace Monson Mace, Harold Judd Mace Sr., Richard Henry Clark, Harold Judd Mace Jr., Florence Jean Mace, and May Eva Graybosch.
