CMSgt. David Louis Emery, USAF (Ret.), 77, entered into rest on Thursday, January 16, 2025.

David was born on November 15, 1947, in Baltimore, Maryland, and was the beloved son of the late Louis W. Emery, Jr. and Ruby Jefferson Emery. A man of honor and service, David enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1966, dedicating three decades to his country. He bravely served during the Vietnam conflict and rose to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant before retiring in 1996.

Following his distinguished military career, David transitioned to working for a defense contractor at Robins Air Force Base, where he continued to leave a lasting impact. From 1996 to 2003, he excelled as a missile engineer, followed by his role as a systems engineer from 2004 to 2015. In 2016, he became a senior reliability engineer, a position he held until his final retirement in 2022.

David was a man of diverse passions and talents. He cherished traveling, hunting, and firearms—especially the art of building them. Above all, he valued his time with family, creating cherished memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who loved him.

Proud of his heritage, David was an esteemed member of the Chickahominy Indian Tribe, carrying his ancestry with honor and pride. His life was a testament to dedication, ingenuity, and love, and his legacy will be remembered by all who knew him.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Marcel Ledesma Emery; children, Tammy Emery of Georgia, Desiree Emery of Virginia, Susan Emery of Illinois, Shane de Leon of Dubai, Barbara Roberts of Virginia, Dean Emery of Nevada, and Jeff Hansen of California, along with a host of other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, David will be laid to rest in Andersonville National Cemetery.
