CMSgt. Lloyd Levon Rains, USAF (Ret.) entered into rest on Friday, May 16, 2025, at the age of 86.
Lloyd was born on July 18, 1938, in St. Joseph, Michigan. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, beginning a distinguished 27-year career as an engineer. Through hard work and leadership, he rose through the ranks retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant.
Following his retirement from the Air Force, Lloyd continued to contribute his engineering expertise in the private sector, working with Northrop Grumman for another 19 years. His decades of service, both military and civilian, left an impact on those around him.
Beyond his professional careers, Lloyd was an avid pilot and golfer. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and cooking.
In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by his son, Michael Rains, daughter, Lori Rains, and former spouse, Shirley Rains.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving caregiver, Sandra Williams of Perry; sister, Melba June Avery of Michigan; a niece, Danita of Michigan; and nephews, as well as other extended family members and friends.
At the family’s request, all services held will be private.
