St. Martinville- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 22, 2025 at St. Martin de Tours honoring the life of Coby M. Champagne, 41, who passed away on March 16, 2025.
A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville on Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
A rosary will be prayed by the Men's Rosary Group at 10:00 AM on Saturday.
Rev. Jude Halphen will officiate at the funeral mass. Readers will be Carmen Angelle and Briana Vegas. Gift bearers will be Jackie LeBlanc and Millie LeBlanc.
Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
Coby Martin Champagne was a beloved husband, father, son, and friend. Born on October 28, 1983, in Lafayette, Louisiana, Coby spent his life in the warm embrace of family and friends, creating cherished memories in St.Martinville, Louisiana, where he resided.
Coby was a dedicated truck driver, whose journeys on the road took him across the United States, where he made countless friends and touched the lives of many. Known affectionately as the "Cadillac Kid," Coby had a spirit like no other, always embracing life with an adventurous heart. He believed that he was "weighed down heavy with the favor of the Lord," reflecting his deep faith and appreciation for life's blessings.
Family time was where Coby truly thrived, he poured his heart into his loved ones. Coby's honesty was as genuine as his laughter, and he had a remarkable ability to make anyone smile. He never met a stranger; to him, every person was an opportunity for connection and joy.
Coby's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. His fun-loving nature and charismatic personality left an everlasting mark on all who crossed his path. He will be remembered fondly and missed dearly by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Trosclair Champagne; children, Gabrielle Marie Champagne, Laike Jeanne Champagne, Kane Ellis Champagne, and Clay Martin Champagne; his parents, Hobson and Joyce Menard Champagne; sister, Sandi Angelle (Mike); nephew, Gavin Sonnier; niece and godchild, Carmen Angelle; his mother in law, Gertie Trosclair; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Leed and Carmen Champagne, maternal grandparents, Thomas and Rose Menard and father in law, Ellis Trosclair.
Pallbearers will be Gavin Sonnier, Rusty Menard, Jude Bonin, Ryan Albert, Cody Hulin, and Toby Landry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Guilbeau, Brooks Champagne, Brody Champagne, Bradie Boggs, Brodie Boggs, and Brannon Boggs.
Rest in peace, Coby. Your joy, faith, and love will continue to inspire us all.
