"Upwards and onwards" - Sam and Colby (YouTubers)
Cody James Blett, age 15, was born on August 5, 2009 and passed away at his home on April 9, 2025. He was a student at Shepherd of the Hills Christian School before moving on to Cherry Hills. Cody started a year at Lutheran High School before continuing 9th grade in Genesis Virtual Academy. He had aspirations of becoming a civil engineer, and was talented when it came to his passion of building.
His interest in creating included hobbies such as making crafts out of Perler beads, working with wood, and of course playing with Lego bricks. Cody also enjoyed intentionally annoying his family, especially his older sister (me) and his mom. He is survived by his parents Erin and Rick, his sister Casey, and his maternal grandparents Terry and Ruth. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. In heaven, he'll be playing with Brewster ("Brew-Brew"), his grandparents' black Labrador retriever, and meeting many relatives for the first time.
The service, of which there will also be a livestream available, is to take place at Our Father Lutheran Church in Centennial on Saturday, April 26 at 11 a.m., along with a luncheon reception, followed by a private interment. Donations in Cody's memory can be made to The Trevor Project, and/or gifts for his memorial stone can be sent to Horan & McConaty Funeral Service and Cremation through Brian DeCaro by calling 303-577-6008.
