Cody Joe Gonzalez entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loved ones on March 13, 2026 in Odessa, Texas.
Cody was born on November 24, 1986, in Fort Stockton, Texas, to Froilo Gonzalez, Jr. and Gracie Terrazas. He grew up in Fort Stockton and graduated from Fort Stockton High School. Cody later became a diesel mechanic, a profession that perfectly matched his natural talent for fixing things. If you knew Cody, you knew there was not anything he could not fix. He took great pride in his work and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Cody was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Froilo Gonzalez Sr. and Etelvina Gonzalez; his maternal grandfather, Frank Chavarria Sr.; his aunt, Bessie Acosta; and his uncles, Frank Chavarria and Gabriel Chavarria.
He is survived by the love of his life, Amanda Gonzales, and their three children, Gio Fernandez, Savannah Conner, and Max Gonzalez. He is also survived by his oldest son, Josef Hernandez.
Cody is also survived by his mother and stepfather, Gracie and Eddie Terrazas of Midland; his father Froilo Gonzalez, Jr. and Suzanna Gonzalez of Fort Stockton; his siblings, Maggie Hinostroza and her husband Gilbert Hinostroza of Fort Stockton, brother EJ Terrazas- Reagon and his partner Joshua Reagon of Midland, brother Ted Terrazas and his wife Erica Terrazas of Midland, sister Megan Terrazas of Austin, and brother Marc Terrazas and his partner Kevin Terrazas of Austin; his maternal Grandma Tencha Chavarria of Fort Stockton and Grandma Socorro Terrazas. He also leaves behind his beloved godparents, Billy Sr. and Joann Gonzalez of Midland, along with many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
A public viewing will take place on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday March 18, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at San Miguel Arcangel Catholic Church in Midland, Texas, followed by a reception.
Pallbearers will be Cipi Amaro Jr., Eduardo Amaro, Gilbert Hinostroza, Joshua Reagon, BJ Gonzalez, Steven Acosta, Chris Chavarria, and Bill JaCoby Gonzalez. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Crihfield, Gilbert Singh, and Billy Gonzalez Sr.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the CCU team at ORMC for the compassionate care they provided to Cody and our family. A special thank you to Dr. Khan, PA Anna Sage, Nurse Cecilia, and Nurse Dulce for their kindness, dedication, and support during such a difficult time.
We would also like to thank Nalley-Pickle & Welch for their care, guidance, and support. Your compassion and professionalism meant so much to us and will never be forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date in Fort Stockton, Texas, where family and friends will gather to continue honoring and celebrating Cody's life.
