With a profound sense of sorrow and loss, we announce the passing of Cody Kelly Spencer, affectionately known as Kodi, born on November 7, 1994 in Tulsa, OK. He departed from us unexpectedly on November 13, 2025 in
Ogden, Utah at the age of 31. Cody, a spirited and witty soul, was a beacon of laughter and a source of joy for everyone who had the fortune of knowing him. His love for life was infectious, and his humor was a comfort to all in any circumstances.
Cody was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on November 7, 1994. He attended Woods Cross Elementary, West Bountiful Elementary, South Davis Junior High and Woods Cross High School.
Cody was raised in Woods Cross, Utah but most recently resided in
Ogden, Utah. His adventurous spirit led him to experience life in several areas including Las Vegas, Nevada. Known for his unique blend of humor, he was a performing artist at local comedy clubs, tickling ribs with his funny and clever jokes, and also found joy in crafting skateboards, writing fiction and using his creativity to cook and create delicious dishes. At the time of his passing, Cody was working on some short stories as a talented writer. Cody's passion lay in the culinary arts, and he was accepted into a culinary arts program to become a chef. The unique mix of his love for art, comedy, and food was a testament to his vibrant personality. As Mark Twain once said, "The human race has one really effective weapon, and that is laughter." Cody lived this belief every day, using his humor as a tool to connect, comfort, and bring people together.
Cody is survived by his parents, Kelly and Carolin Spencer, and by his brother Tony Spencer and sister-in-law Julie Spencer. What mattered most to Cody were his friends; his relationships were the cornerstone of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His friends, family, and everyone who knew him will forever remember his loving nature, his generosity, his sense of humor, and his fervor for life.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am on November 28, 2025 at the Woods Cross Utah Stake Center located at 2064 S. 800 W. in Woods Cross, Utah. Cody chose to be cremated and have his ashes scattered in the mountains.
