Coeline Hassen Obituary

Coeline Louise Hassen

June 1, 1926 - September 23, 2024

Coeline Louise (Dippman) Hassen of Oregon, OH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg campus. Known affectionately as "Sissy" or "Aunt Sissy," Coeline was born on June 1, 1926, to John and Vallie Dippman in Oregon, OH.

A proud graduate of Clay High School, Coeline began her career at Champion Spark Plug before pursuing her passion in cosmetology by attending beauty school. On June 24, 1950, she married the love of her life, Raymond Hassen, of Swanton, OH. Together, they built a loving family, raising five children: John, Bonnie, James, Vickie, and Thomas.

Coeline's life was dedicated to caring for her family and serving her community. As a devoted mother and homemaker, she poured her love into every meal she cooked and every project she undertook. She later extended her nurturing spirit to her role as a cafeteria worker at McCord Junior High School, where she was known for her warm smile and kind heart.

Her creativity knew no bounds. Coeline's hobbies included cooking, canning, floral arranging, ceramics, bead making, and even woodworking-crafting beautiful items like plant stands. Her hands were always busy, creating things that brightened the lives of her family and friends.

Coeline's beloved husband, Raymond; and son, James, preceded her in death. Coeline is survived by her beloved children, John (Melody) Hassen, Bonnie DeYoung-Gross, Vickie (Dave) Rockow, and Thomas Hassen. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Hillary (Aaron) Roggelin, Emily (Jake) Miller, Stephen DeYoung, Zac Gross, Tamra (David) Gaines, Michael Rockow, Amy Rockow, and Logan Hassen. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren, Derek, Avery, and Owen Roggelin, Maximus, Gina, and Charles Miller, Grace DeYoung, and Ethan and Dylan Gaines, each a testament to the love and dedication she showed throughout her life.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Rd., Oregon, OH, with visitation one hour prior in the church narthex. Coeline will be laid to rest at St. Ignatius Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Freck Funeral Chapel, Oregon, OH.

Memorial contributions in Coeline's name may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Her family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Kingston Perrysburg and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their loving care and support.

Coeline's gentle spirit, artistic talents, and deep devotion to her family will be dearly missed and forever cherished by those who knew and loved her.

I remember your Mom so well. We worked together many times in the school cafeteria. She was a wonderful lady and so much fun to be around. My husband went to your Dad's barber shop for years as well. Time passes and we lose contact and then there is an obit. Very sad.
