Cole Thierer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wright & Salmon Mortuary - Peoria on Dec. 16, 2025.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved son and brother, Cole Patrick Thierer, age 22, of Dunlap, Illinois, on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.
Born March 15, 2003, to his parents, Jeff and Mindi (Meyer) Thierer, surviving. Also surviving are his brother, Talen Thierer and sister, Ella Thierer; Grandparents, John and Dawn Meyer, and Joe and Sue Thierer; Aunts and Uncles, Chris (Amy) Thierer, Michelle (Joe) Kahn, and Joe Thierer; Cousins, Jordan Thierer, Keri Thierer, Jack Kahn, and Lucy Kahn; and longtime girlfriend, Anastasia; along with other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Drew Meyer.
Though Coles' life was brief, it was filled with love, purpose, and an impact far beyond his years.
Family was his first and greatest love. He cherished his relationship with his parents, siblings, and grandparents, and nothing mattered more to him than the people closest to his heart. Although the last five years of his life were spent living away from home, from Iowa City to Miami to Chicago, his daily conversations with his parents and siblings made it feel as though he was always close. Never did he end a phone call with family without making sure the final words spoken were, "I love you"-a reflection of the way he lived and loved every day.
Cole loved his friends wholeheartedly and truly enjoyed his time spent with them. He was extremely loyal and always willing to help-personally or professionally. Some of his happiest moments were spent with his girlfriend and their French bulldogs-his "boys"- Mav and Winnie, whom he loved deeply.
Cole was driven, ambitious, and remarkably accomplished at a young age. At just 18 years old, he became a successful entrepreneur, founding his own company and pursuing his goals. He took great pride in his work and approached his career with the same dedication he gave to everything he cared about.
Cole was also deeply passionate about politics and firmly grounded in his conservative beliefs. He never hesitated to share his perspective or stand up for what he believed in, engaging in conversation with confidence and conviction.
While our hearts are broken, we are forever grateful for the love he gave, the memories we created and the impact he leaves behind. He will be missed beyond words and remembered always.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Wright and Salmon Mortuary on Friday, December 19, 2025. Memorial mass will be held at St. Jude’s Catholic Church on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 11 AM with a one hour prior visitation. Fr. Jack Watt will officiate.
The family would like to invite everyone to Mt. Hawley Country Club after the mass for a celebration of Cole's life.

I didn't know your loved one, but that was a beautiful tribute written about him. I pray that knowing that no one could drag him out of Heaven, gives you peace in your loss and that you hold tight to Gods Promise of Eternity with him.

Awful news. I met Cole on holiday years ago when I was a kid. We basically messed around as kids on the beach and pool for 2 weeks. Great guy. Believe he had a brother too.
Anyone able to share how he passed? My thoughts and prayers are with everyone connected to Cole. RIP.
