Coleman Ferriss Obituary


Coleman Ferriss, 56, of Upton, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, at his residence.

He was born in Elizabethtown to Lee and Patricia Hornback Ferriss. He was an East Hardin High School graduate and had worked at Harts Body Shop in Radcliff. He was a member of Lucas Grove Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jesse and Tom Devore; his paternal grandmother, Verna Ferriss; three aunts, Frances Carby, Ruth Hornback and Ernestine Hornback; and two uncles, George Hornback and Carlos Wooden.

Survivors include his loving wife, Melissa Reynolds Ferriss of Upton; his parents, Lee and Patricia Ann Hornback Ferriss of Upton; a sister, Lynette Ferriss of Upton; a nephew, Joseph Ferriss of Henderson, Nevada; two stepsons, Michael Reynolds of Louisville and Nathan Reynolds of Bonnieville; a stepdaughter, Kelsey Reynolds of Louisville; four grandchildren, Katie, Bradon, Linlee and Layla; and an aunt, Mary Walters of Elizabethtown.

The funeral is at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at Lucas Grove Baptist Church in Upton with the Revs. Brandon Sehein and Billy Curle officiating. Burial follows in Brackett Cemetery.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at Manakee Funeral Home in Upton.
