Coleman Leslie Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Pivont Funeral Home - Hinton on Dec. 3, 2025.
Luke 23:43, God's word tells us: "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise"

Coleman Lee Leslie, life-long resident of Hinton and Summers County, made his final heavenly journey to be with the Lord on December 2, 2025. Coleman was born and raised in his hometown of Hinton. After graduating from Hinton High School, he served for six years in the West Virginia National Guard. He later attended and graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science where he became a certified mortician and worked at this trade all his adult life assisting many funeral homes in the southern WV area. His final years were dedicated to serving families at Pivont Funeral Home in Hinton. Through the years, Coleman was a businessman and owner of Davis Department Store, the Hub Clothing Company and Southern Mortuary Service. In addition to his work, he was elected to the Hinton City Council and faithfully served for 20 years.

Coleman was preceded in death by his parents, James and Beulah Leslie, an aunt, Jean Hank, and an uncle, Bill Hank.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Rita, his daughter Courtney of Hinton, stepson Alex Tassos (Lori) of Bluefield, brother Jim Leslie (Carla) of Hinton, sister Delores Brandon (Pat) of Chattanooga, TN, his beautiful granddaughter Parker and special nephew, Derrick Leslie (Missy), both from Hinton.

Throughout his life, Coleman loved fishing, hunting and serving the Lord. He attended the Freedom Baptist Church at Powley Creek. Coleman will be sorely missed by his many friends throughout Hinton, Summers County and southern West Virginia.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Derrick Leslie and Preacher John Offenberger officiating. Burial will follow at Restwood Memorial Gardens in Hinton. Friends may visit from 11:00 am until the time of services on Saturday.
