DES ARC, AR - Coleman Dale Sisson, Sr., a lifelong resident of Des Arc and a respected businessman, passed away on December 24, 2025. He was 89 years old.

Born on March 27, 1936, Mr. Sisson was the son of a local farmer and carpenter. A man of profound intellect and industry, he established his service station business at the age of 25. He served the Des Arc community for over five decades, retiring at age 75.

Known for his quiet demeanor and steady hand, Mr. Sisson was a pillar of strength to those who knew him. He was a self-taught man of immense wisdom who possessed the rare ability to fix anything.

An avid outdoorsman, he found great joy in the woods and the Raft Creek bottoms. He was a man of disciplined character, remembered for his constant smile, calm temperament, and unwavering dedication to his family. His legacy is one of hard work, intelligence, and a lifelong commitment to his community.

Mr. Sisson is survived by his wife, Lawanna Sisson, and his sons, Coleman Dale Sisson, Jr. and Dennis Sisson. He is also survived by his brother, Carroll Sisson, and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bluford and Jessie Sisson, and four brothers: Frank, Billy, Ozzie, and Robert.

Visitation and Services

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, December 27th, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the Gospel Mission Church in Des Arc. Funeral services will be held the same day at 1:00 pm at the church, with interment to follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Des Arc.
