Coleton Adams

Coleton Adams, 25, of Columbus, GA passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023 in Columbus, GA.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am EST Friday, December 29, 2023 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Robb Goodman officiating. A private interment will follow the service. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 am EST, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
Coleton was born in Columbus, GA on June 13, 1998, son of Kevin Adams and Kristen Duncan Blackshear. He enjoyed playing and watching basketball, and playing the guitar. Coleton found solace being outdoors, camping and hiking and had a deep affection for nature. He had a profound appreciation for a variety of music and curated quite an eclectic playlist, of which he was very proud, and often shared it with those close to him. Coleton was an avid reader who revered his collection of writings from Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, Walt Whitman, and the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. Coleton appreciated movies and films from all genres, and was always ready to share his critiques. He especially enjoyed music and literature that he felt transcended space and time. Coleton will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Forrest Ford Duncan and Constance Whatley Duncan.
He is survived by his mother, Kristen Duncan Blackshear and Chris Blackshear of Phenix City, AL; father, Kevin Adams and wife Kim of Columbus, GA; grandparents, Walter and Sharon Adams; a sister, Katelyn Blackshear of Phenix City, AL; brothers, Zachary Adams and Maxwell Adams, both of Columbus, GA; uncles, Garry Duncan and wife Kay Lynn of Salem, AL and David Duncan of Franklin, TN; an aunt, Shannon Credle of Phenix City, AL; a dear cousin, Owen Thomas; several other extended family and friends.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Coleton's memory.
