Colin Hinlo Buntua

Colin Hinlo Buntua, 77, passed away on December 4, 2025, in Falls Church, Virginia. He was a devoted husband to Connie L. Buntua. They shared 47 years of marriage together.

Born in Toboso, Negros Occidental, Philippines, he was the son of Judge Fernando Uy Buntua and Educator Martina Hinlo Buntua. He attended University of the East in Manila, Philippines. He owned his own general contracting business in Falls Church and Fairfax, Virginia.

Colin was an active parishioner of Saint Philip Catholic Church in Falls Church, Virginia. He was also actively engaged in Jesus Is All Community, a prayer group at Saint Philip. He was on the Board of Directors for the Philippine Medical Mission at Saint Charles Catholic Church.

Colin enjoyed international politics and news, tracking the weather, international travel, and exotic delicacies. Colin enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and spoiling them with attention and gifts. He loved socializing and hosting family and friends. He loved gardening and landscaping. Colin will be remembered for his smile, humor, and generosity.

Colin is survived by his loving wife Connie, daughter Cathy, son-in-law Jonathan King, and grandsons Alexander and Patrick Colin. Colin is also survived by his brothers Klaus Buntua, Rhys Buntua, Arlen Buntua; sisters Freya Umayam, Veda Vergara, Elma Buntua; and many nieces and nephews. Colin is predeceased by his father Judge Fernando Uy Buntua, mother Educator Martina Buntua, and brother Elihu Buntua.

There will be a Funeral Mass at Saint Philip on December 11, 2025 at 11:00AM.

A viewing for family and friends will be at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home on December 13, 2025, 10:00AM-12:00PM. The burial will directly follow at Fairfax Memorial Park at 12:00PM.

The family will immediately host a luncheon reception at home.

Colin is loved and cherished by many. He is deeply missed. He will remain in our hearts.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
