Jerome "Jerry" Michael Kasulaitis, 84, passed away on 5 December 2025
(3:30am) at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Mary
Kasulaitis. They shared 60 years of marriage together.
Born in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Albin and Mary Kasulaitis. His
journey of education saw him graduate from St. John's College High School
in Washington, D.C., graduate from Northern Virginia Community College,
and attend George Mason University with his US Naval Service and IBEW
Local #26 Apprentice Program completed along the way. He served in the
US Naval Reserve from 1963 to 1971 as an Aviation Antisubmarine Warfare
(ASW) Technician, Second Class (AX2), in Patrol Squadron VP-662. As a
crew member, his hard work and dedication earned every award available
to Patrol Units, including the U.S. Atlantic Fleet Reserve ASW Readiness
Excellence Award and Noel Davis Trophy for being the most efficient VP
Squadron in the Naval Air Reserve Command for five consecutive years
(FY64 to FY68) … a feat never before duplicated at the command. After his
Honorable Discharge from the US Naval Reserve, he completed the IBEW
Local #26 Apprentice Program and became licensed as a Master Electrician
in the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the State of
Maryland. His knowledge and skills as a Master Electrician touched many
lives in some form or fashion through his work at St. Leo's School/Church,
The National Gallery of Art, numerous other businesses and homes in D.C.,
Virginia, and Maryland, and as a Teacher to Apprentices wanting to make a
career as an Electrician just as he did.
He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers
(IBEW) Local #26 and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed coaching all of
his children's soccer teams; watching his children, grandchildren, and great
grandchildren grow and flourish in whatever they decided they wanted to
do in life. He will always be remembered for instilling hard work and
dedication in his children and those he taught as electrical students; his
love of fishing; his humor; dedication to his family; his kindness; his loving
and caring demeanor; and his love of The Father, Son, Holy Spirit, and the
Blessed Mother.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Kasulaitis; his children, Theresa, Michael,
Stephen (Cathy), Elizabeth, and Christopher; his grandchildren, Christopher
(Michael), Cassie, Raymond (Gladys), Michael Jr. (Aubrey), Morgan (Wayne),
Alec, Alaina, Grace, and Lukas; his great grandchildren, Aubrey, Oliver,
