Colin Scott Gordon

Colin Scott Gordon, 70, died April 27, 2025 in Barefoot Bay, Florida.
He was born in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. His adventurous soul took him hitchhiking around North America, and to work in Labrador. After training and working as a butcher and a tool and die maker in Ontario, he relocated in his late 20s to Florida where he worked at Finest Kind Tackle and other sales.
Colin married Katherine (Kathy) Leone Gordon on October 27, 2007. He was devoted to Kathy, and took great delight in his loving relationship with their niece, Katherine Montoya, who was like a daughter to him, and her family.
Colin and Kathy enjoyed RVing, boating and fishing together. He was an avid angler throughout his entire life, beginning when he could first bait a hook. He built many unique rods and designed lures to complement his extensive collection of fishing gear. He was a great mentor at work and at leisure, always happy to share his humor and extensive knowledge and experience with others.
Never one to suffer rules gladly, he frequently stretched the boundaries imposed on him. However, his strength and determination helped carry him through numerous health crises.
Colin is survived by his wife, Kathy; Joseph and Trina Leone and their children Rosalia, Michael, Vincent and William; Katherine and Chris Montoya and their children LeighAnn and Kaycee; siblings Ann Gabriel (Hans) and John Gordon (Joanna Kaiser); sisters-in-law Denise McConaghy, Susan Chamberlain (Jim) and Patricia Almaguer.
He was predeceased by his parents Sibyl Gordon and John Gordon, Peter Leone, and Billy Meyer (Debbie).
Family and friends are invited to gather and share their memories of a man who touched so many hearts at a celebration of Colin's life at 2 pm on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Building A, 625 Barefoot Blvd., Micco, Florida 32976.
Memorial donations may be made to Boy Scout of America, Troup 422, c/o Brady Young, 144 SW Oakridge Drive, Port St Lucie, Florida 34984. Like Colin, Brady is passionate about fishing. Funding will assist his Eagle Scout project to improve fishing piers at three local nature preserves - DJ Wilcox, Petravice and Indian Hills.
