Colin John Weesner, 83, of Clinton Township, MI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
Colin was born January 31, 1942, to the late John D. and Rosalind (Hipskind) Weesner in Wabash, Indiana. A few years after John D's passing, Rosalyn remarried to Thomas Shovlin, Colin's Stepfather. Colin's immediate family includes his children, Andrew, Katherine and Peter.
Colin was a 1960 Graduate of Wabash High School and earned a Bachelor of Science from Indiana University. He attended Brown Institute computer programming school in 1966, where he met Katherine Betz. Colin and Katherine (Betz) Weesner were married in 1967 and then divorced in 1981. Colin then married Amy Harris of Wabash, IN, in 1982, and they divorced in 2002.
Colin worked all his postgraduate life in the Healthcare Services/Technology field, where he made many good friends. Colin worked his way up from sales to management, but he would tell you his lifelong achievement was not reaching Managing Director level, but rather in meeting and befriending all the people he did.
Colin liked to hear and tell jokes and enjoy a great meal, especially steak, with a glass of fine wine or whiskey. He would tell you his true passions were meeting new people, making new friends, and visiting with family or friends. He also enjoyed classic cars, especially the 1963 Split Rear Window Daytona Blue Corvette. Additionally, he loved traveling and photographing all that he could see, playing cards like Poker, Euchre, and Gin Rummy, and he was an expert billiard player.
Colin is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Katherine (Shawn) Olesky and son, Peter Weesner; grandchildren, Colin J. Olesky, Nicholas Olesky, Grace Olesky, Lauren Weesner and Megan Weesner, who will dearly miss their beloved Papa; his siblings, Rosalind Neadeau and Sam (Bonnie) Shovlin; and his previous daughter-in-law, Nicole Weesner. Colin also dearly loved and will miss his extended family of nieces and great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Andrew Weesner; his brother and sister-in-law, Bill (Ruth) Weesner, Sr.; and a brother-in-law, James Neadeau.
Colin will be laid to rest in a small family ceremony in the Summer of 2026 in Wabash, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Leader Dogs for the Blind, Rochester, MI, at https://www.leaderdog.org/
