It is with profound sadness that the family of Ross Weesner shares the news of his passing on the 6th of February in

Ross is survived by his beloved wife, Josephine Mountain Weesner, and their four children: daughters Jillian H. Hammell (Adam) and Laura W. Marshall (Chad); sons Ryan Pierce Weesner and Blake Mountain Weesner; and grandchildren Madalyn, Laurel & Allison Hammell, and Reese & Asher Marshall. In addition, remaining is Ross's loved, and devoted, sister, Carla Weesner Conrad; and his nephews R. Sean Snider, Joseph A. Snider, Charles T. Conrad and John Paul Weesner.
Ross was predeceased by brother John Douglas Weesner, sister Carolyn Weesner Snider, and nieces Nicole Hayne, Catherine (Katie) Margaret Conrad, and Margaret (Peggy) Winfield Snider-McGuire.)
Ross Warren Weesner was born March 31st, 1947, in
Miami, Florida, the 2nd son and 4th child of R. Paul and Margaret Thrift Weesner of Miami Shores. He graduated from Miami Edison High School, Class of 1965. In the fall, he headed to The University of Denver. While he missed the ocean and Biscayne Bay, the boating and water-skiing, he enjoyed the close proximity to the Rocky Mountains, and the new experiences the area had to offer, including skiing. After two years, Ross decided to move back to Florida to be closer to his family, and to friends on the east coast. He transferred to FAU, Boca Raton, graduating in 1971. It was while he was studying at FAU that Ross decided to apply to the Miami-Dade Fire Department, joining the Fire Rescue Unit (Fire Fighter/Paramedic), retiring in 1995 after 25 years of service.
Ross was a loving husband, and a devoted father to his four children. His life centered around his family, and he was an engaged parent, actively involved in his children's lives. His extended family was important to him as well, and he made it a priority to stay in touch, and to visit as often as possible.
Ross will be remembered for his smile, and as a kind and generous person, always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors. His children will greatly miss his unwavering sturdy love, advice, time and generosity.
"C.S. Lewis said that when his friend died, it wasn't just the loss of his friend that shattered him. It was that the part of himself that only his friend could bring out, would never be brought out again."
ā Jameson: "Maybe that's the quiet work of grief: Learning how to keep those parts of you alive. Not to replace them. Not to move on. But to Honor the version you became because they were here."
