Ryan Anderson Obituary

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our dear Ryan, age 67, at home on February 23, 2026.

Born on June 14, 1958, in Sterling, Illinois, he was the youngest son of Donald and Phyllis Anderson. He was brother to Dorcy Prosser and brothers Nyle and Jason Anderson.

Ryan spent most of his life in St. Augustine, Florida 1981-2026. He held a B.S. degree from Illinois State University in Business Law and a Masters degree in Deaf Education from the University of North Florida. He worked for many years at the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind. Additionally, he worked with the Crown Consortium as a facilitator in the "Facilitative Leadership" program in school districts all around the state of Florida.

He loved fishing, wheelchair basketball, ballet, Jacksonville Jaguars football, but mostly spending time with his family and friends. He especially loved his time with his son Nyle and daughter-in-law Brandy and grandson Maximus, and his daughter Anna.

He attended Shephard of the Coast Lutheran Church in Palm Coast. He also loved to attend fish fries during Lent, Christmas parties, St. Valentine's and St. Patrick's Day meals at Corpus Christi Catholic church with his wife, Carolyn.

He is survived by his beloved wife Carolyn of 43 years, his son Nyle G. Anderson (Brandy), his daughter Anna C. Anderson and beloved grandson Maximus and granddaughter Olive Ebel and her family. He is also survived by his sister Dorcy Prosser (Don), brother Nyle Anderson (Patty), and brother Jason Anderson (Martha). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and hundreds of dear friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Shepherd of the Coast Lutheran Church in Palm Coast. Inurnment will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2026, at San Lorenzo Cemetery in St. Augustine.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ryan's name may be made to Shepherd of the Coast Lutheran Church, 101 Pine Lakes Parkway, Palm Coast, FL 32164 (www.sotcpc.com).
