Maria Solis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by St. John's Family Funeral Home & Crematory on Feb. 26, 2026.
Maria Teresa Solis, 81, of St. Augustine, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026.

Maria was born on March 27, 1944, was raised in Atco, N.J., and attended Edgewood Regional H.S., graduating in 1962. She attended Philadelphia General Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1965. In 1974, Maria became a Registered Nurse Anesthetist. She retired in 2006, but not before completing her Bachelor's degree at Neumann College in 1997.

After retiring, Maria decided to get a dog named Bernard to keep her company. She also decided to take cooking classes now that she had time. Maria loved spending time with all her friends and family. Her biggest enjoyment, besides playing dominoes and solving puzzles, was traveling, and that she did. She visited Australia, Alaska, Japan, Thailand, Turkey, Greece, France, Italy, Spain, and many U.S. states.

Maria resided in St Augustine, FL, but her heart was always true to the Philadelphia Eagles. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. Maria is survived by her brother James Rogue, sister-in-law Margaret Solis, and nephews Stephen, Anthony, and Michael and her B.F.F., who was like a sister, Lynne Williams. She was preceded by her parents, Ana & Frank Solis, siblings, Agnes Rogue, Victor Solis, Ralph Solis, and Ricardo Solis.

Services will be held at a later date.
