Colleen Elizabeth Brown, 88, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, in
Mt. Vernon, Washington. Born on April 25, 1937, in
Denver, Colorado, Colleen lived a life filled with love, faith, and devotion to her family. Colleen was preceded in death by her husbands, David and Marvin. She was the beloved daughter of Edna and Owen and is survived by her brother Owen Jr. (Dorie). She was a proud mother to her daughter Candy Simon (Wayne) and son Randy Dolan (Joanne). Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren Bernadette, Sandra, Louis, Jennifer, Christine, and Casey; her 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
We honor and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman, the beloved matriarch of her family. Loving and deeply devoted to both her family and her faith in Jesus, she lived a life centered on compassion, strength, and grace.
She had a special gift for making every member of her family feel cherished and valued, always keeping them close to her heart. Her love created a foundation that shaped generations and built a legacy that will continue for years to come.
Headstrong and spirited, she carried a witty sense of humor that brought laughter to those around her. She appreciated the beauty in everyday moments and had a poetic talent that reflected her thoughtful and creative soul.
Her family was the greatest joy of her life, and she took pride in nurturing the bonds that held them together. Alongside them was her loyal four-legged companion, Archie, who brought her endless comfort and happiness.
Her memory will live on through the love she shared, the faith she carried, and the family she treasured above all else.
She found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. She loved crocheting, working on challenging jigsaw puzzles, and cooking for those she cared about. Creative and talented, she enjoyed making finely detailed, handmade crafts and even shared her spirited side as a hula dancer. She took pride in her Irish heritage and celebrating Saint Patrick's Day every year with a traditional corned beef and cabbage meal with family was her most favorite.
She was especially known for her thoughtful gift-giving, always remembering holidays and birthdays with care. Her cards and notes were filled with personal touches, written in beautiful, intricate cursive that made each message feel special and heartfelt. Every handwritten card was a reflection of the love and attention she gave so freely to others.
May those who knew Colleen find comfort in remembering the remarkable woman she was; loving matriarch, creative soul, and faithful servant of God. A funeral mass service will be held on March 19, 2026 from 12:15pm-1:15pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 400 North 15th Street,
Mount Vernon, WA 98273. A Rosary will Precede the funeral mass at 11:30am.
