HOWLAND - Colleen M. Kurilla, 54, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 29, 2025, at Select Specialty Hospital in Boardman surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Colleen was born July 4, 1970, in Youngstown, the beloved daughter of Lawrence S. And Arlene G. Neff Kurilla. A lifelong area resident, she proudly graduated from McDonald High School with the Class of 1988 and went on to attend the University of Akron.
Colleen attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in McDonald and also attended River Rock Church in Warren where she took great joy in participating in various church groups and activities.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures-attending sporting events, crafting, watching softball, and spending time outdoors. However, her greatest joy came from the cherished moments she spent with her granddaughter, Mia, who brought immense light to her life.
Colleen is survived by her daughter, Hanna (Niall) McGee of Howland; her granddaughter, Mia McGee; her parents, Lawrence and Arlene Kurilla of McDonald; her brother, Thomas L. Kurilla of East Palestine; a nephew, Stephen Kurilla and a niece, Katelyn Kurilla and many extended family members.
Colleen's warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched all who knew her. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all those who loved her.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
Funeral services will begin at 10:15 a.m. on Monday, April 7, 2025, at the funeral home and continue with a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church 618 Ohio Ave., McDonald.
