Colleen M. Siebe
Colleen M. (Gronenthal) Siebe, 62 years of age, of Beatrice, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 19, 2022 surrounded by family after a battle with cancer. Colleen was the daughter of Leander and Angie Gronenthal. She graduated from Beatrice High School in 1978 and spent many of her working years in manufacturing, working at American Tool, and Husqvarna. Prior to manufacturing, she ran an in-home daycare and worked at BSDC. Colleen married Dallas Hanshaw and together they had 2 children, Nicole and Justin. They later divorced and she married Greg Siebe in 2000; they were together for a total of 32 years. Colleen had a love for animals. Her dogs, Max and Oscar, were her comfort companions and followed her everywhere she went. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren's sporting events. Colleen rarely missed a ballgame or wrestling match. She also enjoyed Husker football, Christmas, fishing, and entertaining family and friends. Colleen had the kindest heart and made a friend everywhere she went.
Colleen is survived by her husband, Greg; daughter, Nicole Hanshaw of Beatrice; son, Justin Hanshaw and wife Jenny of Pickrell, Jace, Carsen, and Aiden, also of Pickrell; dogs Max and Oscar; sister, LeAnn Umphenour and husband Kim of Beatrice; nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law, Barb Siebe. She was preceded in death by her parents; and father-in-law, Charles Siebe.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice with Pastor Cale Lang officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice from 1 to 8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice in care of the mortuary. had the best visit with Coleen in July. Was great remembering the good old days of high school.

Colleen was a wonderful neighbor. I remember her being concerned for us when she noticed we had forgotten to put our garage door down for the night. I gave her my phone number, so she could call us to let us know when we did that.
