Mrs. Collene Crumbley, age 92, of McMinnville, TN passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at her residence. She was born on August 16, 1933 to the late Lorenza Woodrow Akers and Mary Maggie Tanner Akers. She was a long time, treasured employee of McMinnville Housing Authority and was a member of Centertown Church of Christ where she taught the Ladies Bible class for many years. Collene was the Mayor of Centertown for 3 years and was very active with Cheer Mental Health for a number of years.

Survivors include her daughters Cherie Benner and Kathi Sain (Becky Hye), son John R. (Melba) Sain, step-sons Randy Crumbley, Ronnie Crumbley, and Steve Crumbley, step-daughter Jackie Crumbley Brundige, brother Don Wayne Akers, sisters Dianne (Wayne) McMahan, and Pamela Akers, grandchildren Sherilyn Steel and Kendra Leigh (Joe) Cuellar, great grandchildren Kendall Lapczynski, Haley (Robert) Arnold, Kendrick Scott, Zhoie Scott, McKenzie Lewis, and Charleigh Cuellar, and great-great grandchildren Erik Arnold, Cooper Arnold, and Benjamin Arnold. She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Raymond L. Sain, second husband Jesse R. Crumbley, brother John Renza (J.R.) Akers, sisters Brenda Gayle Akers and Geri Akers, grandson Joshua Raymond Sain, and granddaughter Adiren Melia Neal.

The funeral service for Collene Crumbley is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 29, 2025 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Robert McDoniel will officiate. Interment will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at McMinnville Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Boyd Christian School or to Meals on Wheels in Collene's memory.
