Coletta Marie Locker, age 88, of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, February 5, 2025, in Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital at Dover.
Born on October 7, 1937, in Akron, Ohio, Marie was a daughter of the late Max and Anna Lauther Schellin. She was a graduate of Madison High School and was employed by New Dawn Health Care Center at Dover, where she worked as a nurse’s aide.
Marie was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was known by her friends and family for her wonderful baking skills. She also enjoyed crocheting.
She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Slemmer of New Philadelphia; sons, William Dennison of Kimbolton, James (Sherrie) Dennison of Sugarcreek, Willoughby (Rose) Dennison of New Philadelphia, Timothy (Connie) Dennison of Dover; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, with an expected fourth to arrive in May; a sister, Lillian (Gene) Ellis of Norton and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her first husband, Prencie L. Dennison; her second husband, Dean Ray Locker; a son-in-law, Paul Slemmer; a daughter-in-law, Mae Dennison; four sisters and a brother.
In keeping with Marie’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia is handling arrangements.
