COLLETTE BARBARA POWLEY, 91, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 4:13 pm, Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Three Springs Senior Living and Rehabilitation, Chester, Illinois.
She was born to the late Berlin and Dora (nee Ball) Usher on January 24, 1935 in Chester, Illinois.
Colette married Paul W. Powley on June 27, 1953 at First Baptist Church in Chester, Illinois; he preceded her in death on November 15, 2021.
She had worked as a librarian at Chester Mental Health Center for 30 years.
Collette was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Chester. She was also a member of Chester Women’s Club and the American Legion Auxiliary in Chester and served on the Chester Food Pantry board and the Chester Parks board. Collette was involved in Girl Scouts and was the coordinator for the American Red Cross life saving classes for several years.
