Comilla Joan Hudelson

Comilla Joan (Cook) Hudelson, 81, a resident of Bluejacket, Oklahoma, passed away at her home surrounded by family on Sunday, January 11, 2026. Joan was born in Narcissa, Oklahoma, on March 18, 1944, to Ervin Edwin and Verna Bell (Stoner) Cook. She attended the Welcome School (which is situated on the family property) until the 6th grade and then went to high school at Afton. She was always proud of the little Welcome School and her history with it. Joan graduated from Afton High School with the class of 1962. She married David Hudelson in 1973, at Narcissa Baptist Church. Together they would have five children. Joan worked as a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service until her retirement. When she was not working Joan enjoyed working cattle, tending her flowers, cooking, and most of all spending time with her children, grandchildren. She was also a lifelong member of the Narcissa Baptist Church where she was very devout in her faith.

Preceding Mrs. Hudelson in passing are her parents, Ervin and Verna Cook, son, Danny Hudelson, and siblings, Ronnie and Lonnie Cook.

Those left to share the beautiful memory of Mrs. Hudelson include her loving husband of fifty-two years, David Hudelson, siblings, Janet Porter, Roger Cook, and Sharon McGuire, children, Kim Jenkins of Miami, Donna Presnell and her husband Tom of Greenwood, Arkansas, Douglas Hudelson of Miami, and David E. Hudelson of Bluejacket. Grandchildren include Danielle Sears, Brent Presnell, Brooke Thornton, Kyle Bachman, Case Hudelson, Matthew Hudelson, Kylee Hudelson, Marshal Hudelson, Aria Hudelson, and Trula Hudelson.

Visitation for Mrs. Hudelson will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami. Funeral Services will be 2 P.M., Friday, January 16, 2026 at Narcissa Baptist Church, with interment following at Williams Timberhill Cemetery.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the American Cancer Society.
