Cona Sue Laminack

Cona Laminack, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on March 14, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering love. Born on May 23, 1961, in Columbus, Cona's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with generosity, truthfulness, and an enduring commitment to those she held dear.

Cona was a woman of many gifts and passions. She loved a good sale, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life and the treasures to be discovered. Gatherings with family, especially cookouts filled with laughter and the fragrant aroma of food, were her happy place. She loved cooking and exploring new foods, a reflection of her adventurous spirit and her profound love for sharing moments around the table. Above all else, she adored her husband and children deeply, embodying the heart of a mother not only to her own but to many who were fortunate enough to call her "mom" in their own right.

A woman of honesty and conviction, Cona never shied away from telling the truth, no matter the circumstance. She always said what was on her mind with a straightforwardness that sometimes came with a touch of stubbornness. Yet this honesty was paired with a tender compassion—she would do anything to make someone smile and was known for always checking in on others to make sure they were okay, reflecting a soul deeply attuned to the wellbeing of those around her.

Cona  leaves behind a remarkable family who carry forward her spirit and love. Her beloved husband, Mark Laminack, stands at her side as a lifelong partner and companion. Her children—Mark Jr. (Amanda), Benita (Kevin), and Alisha (Scott)—each bear the imprint of her nurturing guidance and unyielding support. Her grandchildren, Cody (Courtney), Cameron, Nate, Lacie, and Quinton, as well as her great-grandchildren, Raylynn, Cooper, and Lydia, are living testaments to the joy and vitality she brought into the world. Sisters in heart extended through the ties of family include her brothers Teddy, Randy, and Harold, along with many cousins, aunts, and uncles, all of whom remember her fondly.

She was preceded in death by her mother,  Alice (List) Mansperger, and her brother Ricki, who now join in watching over the family she treasured so dearly.

Those wishing to honor Cona's memory will gather for a visitation on March 23, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. This will be followed immediately by a memorial service from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the same location—a moment to celebrate a remarkable life lived with sincerity, joy, and an open heart.

Cona Laminack’s spirit and love will remain forever engraved in the hearts of all who knew her. She was a beacon of warmth and honesty, a pillar of strength, and a loving soul who truly made the world a better place just by being in it. Her memory will continue to inspire and uplift those she leaves behind. Though she is gone from this earth, her legacy of love withstands the test of time, forever cherished by her family and friends.
