Concepcion Ortiz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by MeadowLawn Funeral Home, Crematory and Cemetery on Dec. 27, 2025.
Concepcion Ortiz was born on March 5, 1946 in Rancho San Antonio de los Olmos, Reynosa, Tamaulipas to Nieves Garcia and Maria Guerrero. Conchi, as she was known to those who loved her, was a resilient and loving woman. She endured a great deal of heartache and suffering throughout her life but always managed to live with strong faith and love in her heart. She was brave and resilient leaving her home country to immigrate to the United States so her children could have a better future. Always putting them first, she worked hard to raise them with the help of her dear sister, Melva Garcia. She managed to instill a great sense of faith, family, and the strongest work ethic anyone could ever have in her children.

Conchi was always willing to help whomever whenever with whatever she could. She was known to welcome anyone who needed shelter or a simple meal. Always cooking and making sure there was food on the table even when things were difficult. Even though she didn't sing often, she had a beautiful voice and loved listening to music. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, bingo, and reading. Who could forget her love of telenovelas, always ready to discuss the plot of whatever story she was currently following.

Conchi is survived by her brother Ramon Garcia (Guillermina) and her daughters Melva Uresti, Lupita Preston, Yesenia Moreno (Jose), and Maria Ortiz (Arnold Arrendodo). She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren: Angel Ortiz (Lucy Torres), Johan Ortiz (Aylin), Keith Preston (Roxy), Christopher Preston, Crystal Coln (Dustin), Kassandra Pianfetti (Sabian), Ivania Moreno, Victor Moreno, Olivia Moreno, Mia Ortiz, Gabriel Casanova, Nathaniel Garcia (Mariana Armendariz), Nayeli Alfaro, Adam Alfaro, and Amaris Gomez. She is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as cousins.

Conchi is proceeded in death by her parents, Nieves Garcia and Maria Guerrero; her siblings Audilio Garcia, Rigoberto Garcia,Yolanda Garcia, Melva Garcia, and Consuelo Garcia; her children Lorena Silva, Jose Ortiz, and Norma Ortiz; her partner for many years Lucio Solis; and her great grandson Zachary Preston.
