Concepsion Ruiz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Angels Cremation Center - Bakersfield on Dec. 15, 2025.
Concepsion M Ruiz, December 8, 1928 - December 5, 2025
Concepsion was born in Millersview Texas on December 8, 1928 to Tiodoro Martinez and Cleotilde Martinez. She peacefully passed away in Bakersfield California on December 5, 2025.
Concepsion moved to Bakersfield California with her husband Albert P. Ruiz in 1952, where they raised their four children. She started working in the surrounding agricultural fields of Bakersfield, and ultimately became a multi-department supervisor at Tenneco West, a local almond processing plant. She took much pride in being a part of the workforce up until her retirement after 26 years.
In her personal life, she was the pillar of her family. While she worked full time, she also was a caregiver to extended family and neighbors. She continued caregiving after her retirement, raising grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a lasting impact on them all and they all love and will miss her immensely.
Concepsion lived a very long life, far away from some of her fondest memories of the rancho in Texas where she was born and spent her younger years with her siblings. Her last years of her life were spent making a few appearances at family gatherings, facetime and phone calls with long distant family, visits with her old neighbors/friends, reminiscing of her youth on the rancho while spending time with the cats on the patio, and often watching novelas until the late night.
Concepsion is preceded in death by her husband Albert P. Ruiz, and her daughter Elisa M. Menchaca. She is survived by her sisters Juanita Cortez and Francis Kolker, her son Eloy Ruiz, daughters Rebecca Navarro and Sylvia Macias, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Concepsion was a strong willed and private person; therefore, her wishes were to be cremated without service. Her wish was for everyone to remember her as she was: resilient, strong, and independent.
The family would like to thank the teams of both Hoffman and Solace Hospice for their care and compassion of our beloved Concepsion (Conchita).
