Concetta Marie Garsee

Concetta Maceo Garsee, 82, passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of January 18, 2026. She was born to Vic C. Maceo and Katie Gigliotta Maceo on August 5, 1943, in Galveston, Texas.

Known as "Sister" to her family - including an extensive network of aunts, uncles, and cousins - she was feisty, gutsy, sassy, and bold, truly a force to be reckoned with. A naturally gifted dancer, harpist, and pianist, Concetta carried her love of music and mischief throughout her life. By her side for 77 years was her devoted best friend, Judy Matijevich.

Concetta was most proud of her nearly 50-year marriage to her husband, Michael Garsee, and of being the mother of her five children: Kathleen Denke (Joe), Elizabeth McMillin (Eugene), Benjamin Lynch (Luis), Olivia Doherty, and Christina Kern (Billy). She was equally devoted to her grandchildren, Monte, Abigail, Cameron, Molly, Julia, and Caleb.

She is survived by her husband, Michael; her five children; six grandchildren; her sister, Annette Maceo Goza; and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Vincent George.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Harbor Hospice House for their kind and gentle care.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association - and please enjoy a big plate of pasta in her honor. Her gravy was the real deal.
