Adren Nell Chandler, a cherished soul and beacon of love, was called to her eternal home on March 6, 2026. Born on November 19, 1956, in
Fort Worth, Texas, Adren's life was a testament to the grace and joy that can be found in everyday moments.
Adren's journey on this earth began as the beloved daughter of Martha Holliday and James E. Chandler. She was a sister who shared an unbreakable bond with Hope Tomlinson, Dean Chandler, Mark Chandler, and Robert Holliday. The heart of her own family, Adren was a devoted wife to Andy Shoemaker and a loving mother to Buster Crouch, Mandie Wofford, Michelle Smith, Lindsay Stanley, and Samantha Lewis. Her life was a reflection of her faith, as she walked in the light of Christ and imbued her family with the same unwavering love and Christian values.
Those who knew Adren understood her passion for the natural world. She found solace in the gentle lapping of the waves in Galveston, where she ultimately found peace. The beach was her sanctuary, a place where she felt the presence of God most acutely. Her laughter was a familiar sound to those who accompanied her on long walks by the seaside, basking in the splendor of creation.
Family was the cornerstone of Adren's world. She cultivated a home filled with warmth, where the door was always open, and the kitchen was the heart of many joyous gatherings. Her love for animals was evident to all, as she cared for them with the same compassion she showed to every person she met. Adren's zest for life was contagious, and she could often be found dancing to her favorite country tunes, instilling in her children the importance of finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.
A woman of deep faith, Adren's Christian beliefs were the compass by which she navigated her life. She embodied the words of the well-known hymn, "Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me," living each day in the light of God's grace and encouraging others to recognize the beauty of redemption and forgiveness.
Adren's legacy is one of love, kindness, and devotion. She was a living example of the Biblical teaching to "love thy neighbor as thyself," and her impact on the lives she touched will continue to resonate for generations to come. As we bid farewell to Adren Nell Chandler, we take solace in the knowledge that she is now resting in the arms of her Savior, leaving behind a world that is infinitely better for her presence.
We honor her memory by embracing the values she held dear and by living our lives with the same generosity of spirit that she demonstrated every day. Adren's light will forever shine in the hearts of those who loved her, and her spirit will continue to guide us from above.
