Conita Potts

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Conita Potts, who departed this world on March 16, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on August 15, 1946, Conita was a testament to strength and independence, always radiating love and kindness to everyone she encountered. To know her was to know a truly wonderful person-she was, without a doubt, one of the nicest individuals you could ever meet.
A devoted member of the Westvue Church of Christ, Conita embodied the essence of selflessness, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. She cherished her family and friends, offering support and love unconditionally. Her passion for reading and scrapbooking provided her with joy, and she often spent countless hours capturing memories and stories that she held dear. A sports enthusiast, Conita loved following baseball and was an avid fan of the University of Tennessee Volunteers and the Tennessee Titans, cheering on her teams with great enthusiasm from her living room.
Conita often reminded those around her of her unwavering spirit with her favorite saying, "I'll be there, Lord willing & the creek don't rise," a testament to her optimistic outlook on life.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bills McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour of 12:00 PM, where Bro. Rick Rolin will officiate. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbia, TN. Logan McKnight, Derrick McKnight, Ray Barnett, Tony Matthews, Mike Whitehead, and Paul Woodard will serve as pallbearers.
Conita is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Betty Coe; mother, Ernestine Meadow Duffer; husband, James Potts; and son, Jimmy Potts. She is survived by her children, Deanna Ferrell, Burt Ferrell, Mike Ferrell (Sherrie), and Kim McKnight (Jeff); siblings, Jimmy Coe (Rachel), Debby Foutch (Allan), Phillip Coe (Debbie), and Sandra Woodard (Paul); her granddaughter, Meagan Glover (Jake) -their children Isaac and Luke; grandson, Dylan McKnight (Hannah) - their children, Stetson and Josie, grandson; Foster Ferrell (Billie) their child, Sawyer; granddaughter, Faith Vaughan - her children Raevin and Aurabella; grandson, Kenny Potts; grandson, Josh McKnight (Ashley) and their child, Freed; grandson, Jay Potts and his child, Joslin; grandson, Greg Potts; and granddaughter, Krystal Lynn and her child Anthony.
As we remember Conita, let us carry forward her kindness, generosity, and love for life. She will be greatly missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
